About this tool
Tiered plans pay different rates on different slices of revenue, which makes them genuinely hard to check by hand. This calculator applies each bracket to the correct slice of your attainment and shows the earnings from every tier separately.
The formula
Each attainment bracket pays its own rate on only the revenue that falls inside it. Total = Σ (revenue inside bracket × bracket rate). A rate change at 100% of quota applies only to revenue above quota, not retroactively to everything.
Worked example
On a $250,000 quota with brackets of 6% to 50%, 8% to 100%, 12% to 150% and 16% above, a rep closing $320,000 earns $7,500 + $10,000 + $8,400 = $25,900 — an effective rate of 8.1%.
